Building “ELLI”

Information

During the Italian occupation, bath facilities are established in the most beautiful beaches of Rhodes as hotel equipment, in the context of boosting tourism. The most characteristic building is Rotunda of Baths in the city of Rhodes. It was built during 1933-1936, on the northern side of Kountourioti square based on an unknown man’s design. With a central cylindrical building, roofed with a vault and an adjacent building of changing rooms on the beach, the complex uses elitist forms and oriental elements in a successful coexistence.
The building now houses refreshment shops and entertainment centers.
